Vistry Group is bringing forward plans for a new sustainable neighbourhood in Hambrook, a place shaped by nature, connected to the community, and designed to meet local housing needs.
Our proposals include up to 200 high-quality new homes, at least 80 affordable homes to help local people stay in the area they call home. We are also proposing biodiverse public green spaces, shaped by the community in our consultation, and improve walking, cycling and transport connections.
We want to work with local residents as we develop these plans, ensuring the future of the site reflects the character of Hambrook and Frenchay.
A mix of 1–5 bedroom homes, including apartments, maisonettes and family houses, with at least 80 affordable homes to help residents stay close to family, friends and support networks.
We plan to open up 4.5 acres of new public open space in the southern field, currently private land, offering new walking routes, play areas, community orchards, allotments, and opportunities for biodiversity.
Green corridors, native planting, habitat creation and retained mature trees will support wildlife and deliver at least 10% Biodiversity Net Gain.
Walking and cycling improvements, new routes to schools and upgrades along Filton Road will make it safer and easier to get around.
The Local Plan proposes adjusting the Green Belt boundary so that most of the site is removed, while the southern field remains within the Green Belt and becomes a new public open space.
This allows new homes to be delivered where appropriate while creating a valuable community green space.
Vistry is one of the UK’s largest homebuilders, delivering high-quality homes across the country under trusted brands including Linden Homes, Bovis Homes and Countryside Homes.
Awarded a 5-star rating by the Home Builders Federation, we are committed to creating sustainable places where communities can thrive for generations.
We want to hear the community’s ideas and views for new homes and how we can improve connections to the site.
We held a public drop in event on Saturday 29 November, 9:30am-1:30pm at Shaftesbury Park, Frenchay Park Rd, Frenchay, Winterbourne, Bristol, BS16 1LG. If you were unable to attend, you can view the information boards presented at the event here.
